After a postponement forced by the Covid-19 pandemic, we return to the 1st Portimão Gastronomy Meeting – from the Ria to the Barrocal.
On Friday March 25th 2022, the Community Center of Alvor will serve as the stage for the “1st Gastronomy Meeting of Portimão – from the Ria to the Barrocal”.
The joint organization by Chef and Gastronomic Consultant Óscar Cabral and SOMAR is in partnership with the Council of Alvor and the support of local partners.
The program of the Sessions is totally focused on the preservation of local flavors, the enhancement of gastronomic products of the region, environmental awareness and gastronomic sustainability as factors promoting a healthy and desired gastronomic tourism in the region. In the morning, at 09h00, the program begins with a walking tour of the Ria de Alvor to raise awareness of the fragility and uniqueness of a lagoon ecosystem of fauna, flora and their unique trophic relationships. At 10am will be the opening session, followed by the first round table discussion on “How it all began, gastronomy and our roots”, and at 11.30am the second on “The future of local gastronomy”.
