As part of the celebrations of the Environment and Ocean Week, SOMAR was in Santa Maria and Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen schools on June 02 and 03 with the pre-school classes with the activity “Echo at sea, can you locate it?“.

It was two very cheerful and fun mornings, the little ones heard some sounds that exist in the ocean and realized the importance of sound for marine animals, such as the song of the humpback whale!

With the game, they could imagine how the dolphin uses sound to find a sardine in a playful and fun way! And they could even hear the noise that a boat makes in the ocean.

Many thanks to the classes and educators, especially to teacher Maria Belchior for the photos!

The activity was supported by the Lagos Municipal Council.
